"Farewell to Winter" Festival in Miora
The lively and festive Maslenitsa celebration was held at Lenin Square in Miory.
As part of the festivities, a theatrical interactive performance organized by the Miory Center for Culture and Folk Creativity was presented. Songs, dances, circle dances, games, and contests attracted interest from both children and adults. Folk pastimes and hearty laughter enhanced the Farewell to Winter celebrations and added a special joy to the public festivities.
The vibrant performances by the folklore ensembles “Yazyanka” and “Istavitsa” were warmly received by the audience.
Brave participants successfully climbed the Maslenitsa pole and received valuable gifts.
Exhibition sales of crafts by folk artisans and interactive areas were available to all guests, along with sports-and-games competitions and masterclasses. And what is Maslenitsa without tasting pancakes and drinking hot tea? The highlight of the celebration was the burning of the effigy.
