International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Genocide
On December 9, the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Genocide, in accordance with a resolution of the United Nations General Assembly, the world commemorates the victims of the crime of genocide, honors their dignity, and underscores the importance of preventing such tragedies.
Memorial events were held in the Miory District. In Dysna, a memorial service was held at the mass grave of Jewish victims executed by fascist forces in June 1942. District leadership, representatives of labor collectives, and students of the local school paid tribute with a minute of silence and laid flowers at the memorial.
