Today, solemn events are organized in Beshenkovichy as part of the Belarusian-Russian spiritual-patriotic project "Stones of Memory".
A moleben for the commencement of a righteous endeavor and a rite of blessing of banners were held at the St. Ilyin Church. The memory of the defenders was honored at the mass grave.
Two boulders from Veshenkovichi were transferred to St. Petersburg and Kronstadt for installation at a monument honoring marines, including natives of our country. The "Stones of Memory" project is an initiative dedicated to commemorating the heroism of Belarusian and Russian sailors who defended the legendary Small Land. The event's distinguished guest was Yuri Kuznetsov, a Soviet and Russian actor.
A commemorative flag of unbreakable maritime brotherhood was presented to the Miory District. The flag was presented to Valery Drabo, Chairman of the District Council of Deputies.
