Starting September 1, restrictions on the use of mobile phones will be introduced in Belarusian schools.

This was announced by the Minister of Education, Andrey Ivanets. Exceptions are permitted only on medical grounds upon submission of a certificate from a healthcare facility. The following devices are permitted for use:

Phones – for health monitoring (e.g., blood sugar levels)

Tablets with educational materials – for children with musculoskeletal impairments (without internet or mobile network connectivity)

E-books with textbooks – in the absence of internet and network access, this is determined on an individual basis in consultation with the school administration
