Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin and First Deputy Chairman Sergey Levkovich familiarized themselves with the tourism potential of the Miory District.
The region is renowned for its unique landscapes and sites. Alexander Subbotin and Sergei Levkovich visited the largest raised bog in Belarus and one of the oldest bogs in Europe – Yelnia, as well as a waterfall on the Vyata River.
The regional leadership has instructed that tourism at these sites be developed more actively. During the week, state management in the tourism sector was among the issues addressed at the presidential meeting. The Head of State recalled that the Government has been tasked with making tourism a national project over the next five-year period and maximizing its economic potential.
