Alexander Yarokhnovich, Chairman of the District Executive Committee, welcomed the rally participants.
He emphasized that June 22 is the most tragic date in the history of our country, and the defense of the homeland united all generations and nationalities: For over three years, a ruthless and bloody war raged across our land. More than 3 million lives lost, millions of shattered destinies, and over 10,000 destroyed cities and villages.
One of the gravest atrocities committed by the fascists was the genocide of the Belarusian people. Civilians accounted for more than half of the Soviet Union's total losses. The mass killings were deliberate and systematic punitive operations. Only in the Miora region, over 5,500 people are buried, of whom 4,686 are civilians.
