Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that the rich event program and the "Golden Litera" awards will undoubtedly allow journalists and media experts to broaden their professional horizons and implement advanced practices in their work.
The Minister of Information, Marat Markov, noted the role of the media in ensuring information security: The volume of information is overwhelming, and the boundaries between truth and fakes are becoming increasingly blurred. And our journalists are coping with this war in the information sphere. There are numerous examples, but there are just as many challenges. It is too early to relax, especially considering that trust in the media has increased by 20% over the past two years and now stands at 60%. Moreover, more than 70% of the population trusts regional media. The Ministry of Information, together with law enforcement agencies, has already restricted the activities of 18,000 information resources, of which nearly 7,000 have been recognized as extremist. The situation is similar with book publications. "We have already recognized 110 books as harmful to our children. They are directly a source of propaganda of violence, cruelty, pornography, drug use, etc.
