Session within the framework of the "STEP" project at the "Disna Line" complex
Senior students of the Disna Secondary School named after M. Kuzmin met with the Deputy Chairman of the District Executive Committee, Alexander Zhuk, and entrepreneur Eduard Tereshko, who was among the founders of the complex and continues to work on its equipment.
Alexander Ivanovich noted that the meeting is taking place on hallowed ground, soaked in the blood of Soviet soldiers in 1941 and 1944, and emphasized that such facts must be known and the information about them passed on to future generations to prevent the recurrence of such terrible events.
Nikolai Patenok, coordinator for military-patriotic education, spoke about the alley planted to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from German-fascist invaders, as well as about the Order of the Great Patriotic War and the "For Courage" medal.
The students also learned about the heroic deeds of the defenders of Polotsk, whose battles were fought on the complex's grounds: Major Generals Yakov Verbok, Stanislav Sadovsky (Honorary Citizen of Disna), and Mikhail Kuznetsov, as well as Lieutenant General Alexey Zygin.
