In 2024, the 6th Republican Competition 'Family of the Year' is traditionally held.

The competition is being held in Belarus for the sixth time – the first one took place in 2012.

During this time, the family competition has become a traditional celebration in our country aimed at preserving the spiritual and moral values of the family, promoting the concept of responsible parenthood in society, and popularizing a healthy lifestyle and the prestige of family life, particularly among youth.

The competition consists of two stages:

• the first stage – regional (oblast-level), held in conjunction with the celebration of Family Day (May 15), takes place throughout the republic;
• the second stage (final) – republican, held in conjunction with the celebration of Mother's Day (October 14), takes place in Minsk.

The participants of the competition are families (parents, children, grandparents) that meet the following criteria (hereinafter referred to as family teams):

• members of family teams are citizens of the Republic of Belarus permanently residing in the territory of Minsk;
• family teams have three or more children;
• spouses are in a registered marriage, create the necessary conditions for the upbringing, development, education, and care of children, preservation and strengthening of their health, and preparation for independent living;
• children are raised in the spirit of patriotism, love for the homeland, respect for elders, and diligence, achieve good academic results, and participate in the public and sports life of the school and city;
• a family team knows how to cultivate the aesthetics of the surrounding space and keeps the apartment (house) where they reside in exemplary condition."
