The district administration congratulates veterans of international military duty on the holiday.
Dear residents of the Miory District!
February 15 is a special date in the life of our country – the Day of Remembrance of Internationalist Soldiers. This day serves as a reminder of how important it is to preserve peace and harmony on Earth.
35 years have passed since the end of the Afghan War, which wrote a special chapter in the chronicle of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus and became a symbol of loyalty to the military oath and the soldier's duty of Belarusians.
Today we pay tribute to the soldiers of the Afghan War, to all those who remained faithful to their oath until the end, who fulfilled their duty to the Motherland at the cost of their lives. We share the pain of loss with everyone who has lost loved ones and family members. We extend our deepest gratitude to the families whose sons did not return home.
More than 30,000 compatriots faithfully and honorably fulfilled their duty on the territory of Afghanistan. More than 700 Belarusians did not return home from the battlefields, including five of our fellow countrymen: Pyotr Brinkevich, Sergey Zakrevsky, Vladimir Metelitsa, Sergey Stankievich, and Sergey Shlyapov.
The names of very young men who gave their lives on the rocky Afghan soil, and the names of those who passed away in peacetime, will resonate in our hearts as an eternal reminder. As long as we remember, we live.
Today, internationalist soldiers continue to demonstrate commitment to goodness and justice, love and dedication to the Motherland.
Dear veterans, internationalist soldiers! Your unity, combat brotherhood, courage, selflessness, and dedication to your native land and Fatherland are a worthy example of patriotic spirit for the younger generation.
Thank you for your kind and noble deeds for the benefit of the Miory District and the Republic of Belarus!
From the bottom of our hearts, we wish you good health, peace, kindness, and prosperity for you and your loved ones!
May the future of Belarus be peaceful!
