Fire in dry vegetation in the Miory district

On June 7 at 13:30, the Miory District Department of Emergency Situations received a report of a fire involving dry vegetation near the village of Voitkovo of the Novopogost rural council. The fire covered an area of 1.8 hectares. There were no casualties as a result of the fire. The cause of the ignition is being determined.

Since the beginning of 2023, four incidents of dry vegetation fires have occurred in the Miory District.

The Miory District Department of Emergency Situations reminds that, in accordance with Article 16.40 of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offences, liability is established for burning dry vegetation, standing grass, as well as stubble and crop residues in fields, or for failure to take measures to extinguish uncontrolled fires. For this violation, a fine of 10 to 30 base values is prescribed.
