Miory Regional Executive Committee
Today, the holders of the "Person of the Year of Vitebsk Region – 2025" award are being honored at the "Vitebsk" Concert Hall. This prestigious title has been conferred upon 53 representatives of various professional fields who have made a significant contribution to the development of the northern region of Belarus.
Participating in the ceremonial event are: Igor Sergeenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Rogozhnik, Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Vladimir Yurgievich, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Belarus – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, Dmitry Demidov, Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, members of the Council of the Republic, deputies of the House of Representatives, distinguished workers of the national economy branches, labor veterans, delegations from cities and districts of the Vitebsk Region.
As Alexander Rogozhnik emphasized, working people have always been and remain the main asset of the state due to their professionalism and dedication to their cause. The Vitebsk Region is home to and employs hardworking individuals with tremendous potential.
“The year 2026 marks the beginning of a new five-year plan. The programme for the socio-economic development of our country for 2026–2030 has been approved. We face numerous challenging yet crucial tasks that require joint efforts. Particular attention must be given to the industrial complex, the modernisation of the agricultural sector and the revitalisation of rural areas, as well as identifying new economic growth drivers. The tourism potential of the Vitebsk Region, its unique natural environment and rich cultural heritage will also receive due attention,” the regional head stated, expressing confidence that, through shared determination and discipline, we will overcome all challenges and ensure the northern region becomes comfortable and prosperous.
Prior to the commencement of the ceremony, participants and guests toured the exhibition of paintings by contemporary artists titled "Vitebsk Muses" and the display of traditional women's attire from the northern region, both dedicated to the Year of the Belarusian Woman.
The lobby of the concert hall also features products from enterprises across the Vitebsk Region.
The honorary title “Person of the Year of the Vitebsk Region” has been awarded in five categories: “Industry, trade and services, financial activities, small and medium-sized business”, “Agro-industrial complex, environmental protection, forestry”, “Housing and communal services and road infrastructure, construction and architecture, fuel and energy complex, communications, transport and communications”, “Social sphere (social protection of the population, culture, education, science, sports, healthcare, youth)” and “Ensuring legality and law and order, prevention and elimination of emergency situations, activities of local administration and self-government bodies, and public organizations”.
This year's ceremony honoring laureates is already the seventeenth. Over the years, more than twelve hundred people have become recipients of the honorary title.
