Miory Regional Executive Committee
In 2025, the prosecutor's offices of the Vitebsk Region received over 5.7 thousand appeals from citizens and legal entities. This was reported to BELTA by the information service of the agency.
Of the appeals received, prosecutors examined more than 2.6 thousand on their merits; in a quarter of cases, the applicants' arguments were found justified, and measures of prosecutorial response were taken regarding almost a thousand appeals. It should be noted that the largest number of appeals were examined concerning supervision of law enforcement – 898.
The measures taken, including those by the prosecutor's offices, have contributed to improving the situation regarding compliance with citizens' labor rights. At the same time, in certain regions, instances of untimely payment to employees of sums due from employers continue to occur. For example, upon reviewing an appeal from an employee of one of the agricultural enterprises in the Chashniki District Prosecutor's Office, it was established that he had been unlawfully deprived of part of his salary due to alterations in the work time attendance record – the number of hours worked was reduced by nearly half. Similar violations were identified in respect of two additional employees. Pursuant to the district prosecutor's submission, the underpaid portion of the salary was compensated to the citizens for a total sum of almost Br2 thousand, and the enterprise director and the chief economist of the farm were held disciplinarily liable.
Due attention is not paid everywhere at the local level to compliance with housing legislation requirements. For instance, a local resident appealed to the Tolochyn District Prosecutor's Office seeking assistance in repairing his dwelling. During an on-site inspection, it was established that the roof of the boiler house and the flue pipe of the applicant's rented residential building require repair. Measures were not taken for a prolonged period, despite repeated appeals on this issue to the competent district authorities. Following the prosecutor's intervention, repairs to the building were carried out, and the responsible parties were held disciplinarily liable. Furthermore, measures were taken solely pursuant to the prosecutor's directive to repair the roof of a multi-apartment residential building in the Sennoye District. Three minors reside in one of the apartments of this building.
In the past year, the prosecutor's offices of the Vitebsk Region conducted 51 checks on compliance with legislation regarding appeals by citizens and legal entities, issued 79 supervisory acts, held 120 officials liable for disciplinary offenses, and 7 for administrative offenses.
