The Vitebsk Region returned from the International Industrial Exhibition "INNOPROM. Belarus" with a substantial portfolio of joint projects with Russian partners. These encompass both currently operational and newly emerging initiatives. The dialogue proved lively, with meetings conducted intensively.

Over the course of a two-day visit to Minsk, a representative delegation from the northern region, led by the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, conducted a series of constructive meetings. The objective was to strengthen interregional and international cooperation, establish new cooperative chains, and identify joint projects.

Leading enterprises of the region showcased their key developments at the international platform. Among them were JSC Naftan, Polotsk-Steklovolokno, Krasny Borets, VISTAN, LLC PO EnergoKomplekt, UP Polymerkonstruktsiya, CPUP Vitstroytechmash, LLC FOREM Systems, SOO Novopolotsk Plant of Technological Metal Structures, and others.

On the sidelines of INNOPROM in Minsk, the regional leadership discussed specific matters with the Governors of the Ulyanovsk and Smolensk Regions, Alexey Russkikh and Vasiliy Anokhin, as well as with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation, Alexander Rogozhnik.

It should be noted that on the opening day of the exhibition, Alexander Subbotin participated in the roundtable discussion titled "International Cooperation in Industrial Innovations – Counterpart Dialogue" and held a meeting with the Governor of the Ulyanovsk Region.

“There is significant potential for our further cooperation across all sectors, ranging from science and education to heavy industry. It is encouraging to see that practical experience naturally points toward viable projects. In the interval between our two meetings in Nizhny Novgorod and Minsk, several initiatives have already emerged, including the establishment of a joint manufacturing facility for portal cranes and various scientific undertakings,” stated Alexander Subbotin.

Business-to-business interaction organically developed at the international platform, he added. It now remains for regional heads to further strengthen these ties and create opportunities for enterprises to engage with one another.

– We are developing very warm, friendly, and working relations with the Vitebsk Region, – noted Alexey Russkikh. – In the spring of this year, a delegation from the Vitebsk Region visited a number of industrial enterprises in the Ulyanovsk Region. As a result, several agreements were concluded regarding the supply to our enterprises (products. – Author's note.) of the aviation industry of the Vitebsk Region. Our Ulyanovsk Instrument Design Bureau, which manufactures avionics for aircraft, maintains close cooperation with JSC "Izmeritel". The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant and Mechanical Plant held a series of negotiations with suppliers from the northern region of Belarus. I am confident that fruitful cooperation will also be established here.

Alexey Russkikh invited Alexander Subbotin to visit his region. He also announced plans to organize a business mission of Ulyanovsk enterprises to the Vitebsk Region.

On the sidelines of "INNOPROM. Belarus", the Vitebsk and Smolensk Regions signed a cooperation agreement on the creation of a trade and exhibition center for Belarusian manufacturers on the territory of the Russian region. Implementation of the project will contribute to the development and deepening of trade and economic ties, in particular expanding sales markets and supporting local manufacturers. Furthermore, the establishment of the trading house will ensure the creation of new jobs.

According to Governor Vasily Anokhin, the Smolensk Region is interested in developing cooperation with the Vitebsk Region in the fields of industry and trade. Joint events on experience exchange and investment attraction are planned.

Enterprises from the Vitebsk Region returned from Minsk with a substantial package of developments and agreements, and concluded new contracts with Russian counterparts. In particular, JSC "Naftan" signed a memorandum with LLC "Polyplast Novomoskovsk", which envisages developing cooperation in the field of raw material supplies and the production of import-substituting products.

The Production Association "EnergoKomplekt" offered its Russian partners innovations in the field of cable products.

– Production Association “EnergoKomplekt” maintains its reputation as a reliable supplier, the quality of its products being highly valued by end users. The product nomenclature exceeds 200 thousand mark-sizes. Over the past few years, production has been launched for: power and control cables for use in electrical installations in explosive atmospheres, cables for submerged electric pump units used in oil extraction, mining cables, and water-cooled cables.

Participation in international exhibitions such as “INNOPROM. Belarus” is important for the enterprise, as it enables not only the presentation of new developments but also the strengthening of cooperation with existing partners and the search for new ones, – noted officials at the enterprise.

The Novopolotsk Plant of Technological Metal Structures also emphasized innovative products, presenting a welded metal grating.

– The practical results of exhibition participation become apparent over a longer timeframe. “INNOPROM” was active and vibrant, attracting a large audience and many interested potential partners from different countries. This was a valuable experience of communication with industry colleagues, thanks to which the enterprise gained numerous new contacts. We hope that these business connections will subsequently allow us to find new avenues for cooperation and reliable partners, – emphasized Maria Friedrich, Head of the Marketing Department at the Novopolotsk Plant of Technological Metal Structures.

In our country, “INNOPROM” debuted successfully: 520 companies from Belarus, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan participated in it. The exhibition, organized by the relevant ministries of Belarus and Russia, was visited by more than 14 thousand people. The next “INNOPROM” is scheduled for February 8–10, 2026, in Saudi Arabia.
