Mechanizers of JSC "Mayak-Vysokoye" in the Orsha District, full brothers Denis and Evgeny Pshennye, became the first in the Vitebsk Region to harvest one thousand tons of grain each.

The milestone was achieved on winter wheat, the yield of which, despite challenging weather conditions, exceeded that of the previous year. Denis became the first "thousander" in the Dvina region, while Evgeny took the lead in the youth category.

Aleksandr Subbotin, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, congratulated the "thousand-tonners" directly in the field.

"The most important factor is our personnel, who are both willing and skilled at working. They seize every favorable moment, 'snatching' every ton from the weather. Currently, sunny weather has set in, presenting a window of opportunity to dedicate all efforts to securing the harvest. We now have two 'thousand-tonners'. In such a challenging season, this achievement can be considered a labor feat. The immediate task is to accelerate progress, harvest the grain from the fields, dry it, and place it in storage."

Aleksandr Subbotin noted that the harvest prospects in the region this year are positive.

Igor Moroz, Chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee, stated that the overall harvest in the region's fields is encouraging.

"The average yield of winter cereals exceeds 45 centners per hectare. As of today, 20 percent of winter cereal crops have already been placed in feed reserves. Weather conditions have stabilized, and we are increasing our pace. Teams at agricultural enterprises are highly motivated. All managers fully understand the level of responsibility. We will successfully complete our tasks," the regional head stated confidently.

Denis Pshennye shared his secret to success. For this leading mechanizer, this harvest season behind the combine harvester's controls is the second in his career.

"It all comes down to the desire to work," he emphasized. "We are focused on harvesting the crop in the shortest possible timeframe and without any losses. Naturally, I was concerned about the weather conditions. It was not about rushing to reach the thousand-ton mark: I simply did not want to lose a single grain."

For the young mechanizer Evgeny Pshennye, this harvest campaign marks his sixth. Last year, he became the second person in the region to cross the thousand-ton milestone. This year, he has taken the lead in the harvest among young crews.

– This is motivating! There are no difficulties: the machinery performs reliably, management is supportive, and salaries are high. The most important thing is the drive to work and enthusiasm.
The harvest is at its peak, and new records await the region's agricultural workers.
