Miory Regional Executive Committee

At the Square of the Flag and Coat of Arms in Vitebsk, certificates for the summer labor campaign were presented to student detachments of the Vitebsk Region.

– With each passing year, the demand among young people for summer employment is growing. Active and energetic youth wish to engage in hands-on work as soon as possible, contribute to the state, and help people. It is equally important that they learn to earn a living through their own efforts, – noted Vyacheslav Durnov, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee and Head of the Regional Operational Headquarters for Student Detachments. – This year, approximately 220 organizations are prepared to hire student detachment members, where they will gain practical experience, learn work discipline, and, one might say, take their first steps into adulthood.

Vyacheslav Durnov presented certificates for the summer labor campaign to regional headquarters and renowned student detachments, wishing the young participants not only to spend their time productively but also to find true friends and allies in their future professional pursuits.

Members of the pedagogical student detachment "Phoenix," named after Hero of the Soviet Union Alexander Azonchik, will head to the Black Sea coast this summer to work at the All-Russian Children's Center "Orlyonok" in Krasnodar Krai.

– We have been eagerly awaiting the start of the summer labor campaign. It is not only an opportunity to earn money, but also a chance to contribute to the development of our country, – shared detachment commissar Yana Moroz. – Our students work not only within Belarus but also abroad. For instance, at "Orlyonok," we serve as educational counselors, guiding the younger generation. It is gratifying to know that our peers from Vitebsk are always warmly welcomed there, with frequent inquiries such as: "Has 'Phoenix' arrived yet?"

The "Zodchie" (Architects) student construction detachment from Novopolotsk has already worked at the international construction sites "Sever" in Yakutia and "Kuzbass." This year, its members will head to the All-Belarusian Youth Construction Site in Minsk, where the National Historical Museum and the Park of National Unity are being constructed.

– Our student labor brigade bears the name of Pyotr Ivanovich Blokhin, a pioneer builder of Novopolotsk and a leader of the Komsomol movement. Last year, we won the banner of the country’s best student labor brigade. This year, our goal is to confirm that we are the best in our work, noted brigade commissar Darya Tsygulyoko. – We have ten ambitious young people in our team. For us, the labor semester also entails new acquaintances, cultural and patriotic campaigns and events.

According to the First Secretary of the Regional Committee of the BRSM, Zhanna Naritsyna, this summer it is planned to employ approximately 7.5 thousand young men and women as part of pedagogical, construction, agricultural, service, production, medical, and environmental student labor brigades.

– The distribution of invitations to the labor summer is always a highly anticipated event. The young people will work on international, republican, and regional projects. We are making every effort to ensure that everyone is assigned to a student labor brigade, stressed Zhanna Naritsyna. – Members will work across all sectors, particularly during the Year of Improvement. Already today, participants at the opening of the regional labor semester will join a labor campaign to improve Vitebsk – this will involve playgrounds and the 30th Anniversary of the Komsomol Park, where more than 700 saplings and flowers will be planted.

The youth leader of the Vitebsk region also announced that August 1 will mark the Day of Belarusian Student Labor Brigades, where those who have already worked in agricultural brigades will share their experiences with those yet to head out in autumn to work as part of agricultural brigades.

A special site for “Labor Summer – 2025” will be the regional youth construction project based at the Novopolotsk Regional Complex for Solid Municipal Waste Management. In total, 60 young students will work at the facility over the summer, and the first brigade members will begin work already in June.

The first BRSM smart tickets were also presented to students from Vitebsk Gymnasium No. 1 named after Zh. Alyfyorova.
