At the Media Center of the Vitebsk Region, the preparation and organization of New Year holiday events in Vitebsk were discussed at a press conference.
– A wide range of festive New Year events is planned in Vitebsk. On December 13 at 18:00, the central Christmas tree of the regional center will illuminate on Victory Square, accompanied by the traditional procession of Father Frost and Snow Maiden figures, fairy tale characters, as well as a festive performance for city residents and guests, and a city lottery draw, – stated Deputy Chairman of the City Executive Committee Viktor Glushin. – The “lighting” of the Christmas trees will also take place in the city’s microdistricts. In the Zheleznodorozhny district – on December 13 at 16:00 in the park on Kirova Street, in the Oktyabrsky district – on December 17 at 15:30 in the “Student” park, in the Pervomaysky district – on December 20 at 16:00 at the plaza near the Ice Palace. On December 16, the republican campaign “Our Children” will commence. On that day, a regional holiday event for children from throughout the region will be held in Vitebsk.
From December 26, 2024, to January 15, 2025, the New Year charity campaign for elderly people “With All My Heart” will take place. Major events on Victory Square and in the microdistricts will be held on December 25, January 1, and January 2, 4, 5, 7, 2025. On Victory Square on New Year’s Eve, from 1:00 to 3:00, a New Year program and a festive fireworks display will take place. From December 16, 2024, to January 8, 2025, in the auditorium of the “Vitebsk” Concert Hall, the New Year musical adventure “Miracles Without Magic” will be staged, and from December 17, 2024, to January 2, 2025, the New Year tale-game “Karabas-Barabas vs. New Year” will run. Detailed information on all New Year events will be published in the city poster board.
– Following the New Year holidays, Vitebsk will host the traditional celebration of spiritual music, scheduled for January 7–8, as well as the VI International Festival-Competition “Art Parade in Vitebsk”, – announced the Deputy Chairman of the City Executive Committee.
Retail outlets in Vitebsk are actively preparing for the New Year holiday.
– Two New Year promotional campaigns for domestically produced goods will be held in Vitebsk, involving a double discount provided by the manufacturer and supplier. The discount will amount to up to 45%, noted Tatiana Prokopenko, Head of the Trade and Services Department of the City Executive Committee. – An extended clearance sale of domestically produced perfumery and cosmetics is also scheduled. Over 150 product items have already been included in this promotion. New Year sweet gift sets for children will also be actively sold, with prices starting from 9 rubles. Christmas trees will be sold at 16 locations, with prices starting from 12 rubles. A Christmas fair will take place on December 21 on Lenina Street opposite the Town Hall, where local catering and retail facilities will present their products. From December 10, 2024, to January 14, 2025, Victory Square will host festive markets, food trucks, mini-attractions, an ice rink (weather permitting), and photo zones. Artisan fairs will also be held in major shopping malls. Handmade crafts will be available for purchase at the TriO Shopping Center on December 21–22, and at the Green Shopping Center from December 21 to 29, where master designers will also showcase their products.
