The solemn ceremony took place on Victory Square with the extensive participation of relatives and loved ones of the newly sworn-in paratroopers.

In addressing the servicemen and their parents, the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Aleksandr Subbotin, congratulated them on one of the most important events in every man's life.

– Today, the Guardsmen continue the rich traditions and heroic legacy of their predecessors. We know many examples of conscientious fulfillment of military duty. History bears witness to the courage, heroism, and patriotism of paratroopers, their loyalty to their Motherland, and their high professionalism, and there is no doubt that this new intake of soldiers will make their contribution to ensuring the military security of our country, – emphasized Aleksandr Subbotin.

Congratulating the young men on taking the oath, Colonel Aleksei Elfimov, Deputy Commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces, said:

– You will always be at the forefront of the attack, carrying out tasks that other troops and military formations cannot perform. The Motherland has no better soldiers than you, – stated Aleksei Elfimov, and wished the parents patience – the sons will return home soon.

The Chairman of the regional branch of the Belarusian Union of Veterans of the War in Afghanistan, Valerian Matskevich, noted that the young men had been granted the great honor of serving in a celebrated unit that distinguished itself during the Great Patriotic War and in providing international assistance to Afghanistan, and the brigade is still considered the best in the Armed Forces today.

– You are to master the airborne art of victory, so as to repel any aggressor who dares encroach upon the Republic of Belarus, – concluded the veteran of the unit.

Speaking on behalf of the parents, Olga Kamovich described the event as a festive and emotional day for herself and her son.

– I am proud that my son is a paratrooper. I am grateful to the officers who helped my son quickly adapt to the demanding rules of military life, grasp the fundamentals of combat training, and I can see how much he has matured during this month, – said Olga Kamovich, addressing all servicemen: – While serving in the armed forces, always remember that we love you and are waiting for you at home.

The State Anthem of Belarus was performed, and the servicemen marched solemnly past the Monument to the Liberators. Following the handover of their weapons, they were granted their first leave and reunited with their parents.
