Miory Regional Executive Committee
Today marks the 30th anniversary of the presidential institution in Belarus. On this very day, delegations from all districts of the Vitebsk Region gathered for a large-scale forum initiated by regional branches of public associations and political parties. A patriotic event was held on Victory Square, where students of the military department at P. Masherov State University unfurled a flag bearing the slogan “For the Fatherland!”. Following a festive procession, the regional and city leadership, labor collectives, public associations, and political parties proceeded from Freedom Square to the Summer Amphitheater.
– This was an outstanding forum. The foundation of our wonderful country is built on patriots – people of different professions united by a deep love for the land, the nation, and our President, – emphasized the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin. – We have experienced both highs and lows, but we are steadily advancing our country. Together, we have traversed these 30 years under the banner of quality. The cities, the region, and the country are thriving, which confirms that we have chosen the correct path offered by the President. Speaking in the words of our leader: we will earn our own happiness, and if we remain active, we will do everything for our beloved country!
The authorized representative of the Head of State for the Vitebsk Region and Minister of Agriculture of Belarus, Anatoly Linevich, also extended holiday greetings, emphasizing that every Belarusian bears responsibility for the fate of our country.
Presidential Assistant – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, Sergey Levkovich, added that the event overflows with a sense of patriotism.
– Slightly more than six months ago, upon assigning me to the Vitebsk Region, the President stated those words that should serve as a guiding principle for any leader, regardless of rank or level. All tasks are accomplished by people, and everything must be rooted in reality! – noted Sergey Levkovich.
On the stage of the Summer Amphitheater, forum participants watched thematic creative performances, while speakers addressed the achievements and development prospects of the Vitebsk Region and our country.
– 30 years ago, our people found themselves at a crossroads. Having gained statehood following the collapse of the Soviet Union, we had to choose our further path of development. Amidst the wave of the USSR's dissolution, blatant opportunists came to power, attempting to steer us toward fanatical nationalism, discord, and enmity with our brotherly peoples, our neighbors. Various initiatives aimed at fracturing the brotherly Slavic peoples were pursued, alongside attempts to discard the Russian language. Where this path leads, we can see today, in retrospect, by looking at our western and southern neighbors, – emphasized the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies Dmitry Demidov. – The wisdom and will of the people brought to power a young, courageous, honest politician – Alexander Lukashenko. That person who was not afraid to take responsibility for the fate of our country. He knew and felt our history, traditions, and culture very well. Thanks to the President, today we are building a free, independent, prosperous country. Thanks to the policy of preserving historical and cultural heritage, our spiritual and moral values, we are confident: neither we nor our children will ever become people without lineage and tribe, serfs on our own native land. We clearly know: Belarus is our country. Alexander Lukashenko is our President, our Father!
The Vitebsk Region congratulated Alexander Lukashenko on the 30th anniversary of the institution of the presidency and recorded a video greeting.
