Miory Regional Executive Committee
From July 15 to August 31, a month-long campaign for ensuring safety during the grain harvest is being conducted in the Vitebsk Region.
Grain harvesting operations are carried out within tight timeframes and with maximum utilization of equipment and personnel. Inadequate oversight regarding compliance with occupational health and safety standards, production safety requirements, and labor discipline creates conditions conducive to workplace injuries.
In practice, there are frequent instances of managers, specialists, and employees failing to fulfill their assigned occupational health and safety responsibilities, as well as non-compliance with technical and operational regulations during the use of vehicles, machinery, mechanisms, and equipment. Employees often disregard occupational health instructions, labor and production discipline requirements, and fail to use personal protective equipment.
To maximize the effectiveness of inspection activities, visits to agricultural organizations will be conducted jointly with state labor inspectors, representatives of state fire supervision authorities, the sanitary and epidemiological service, and other stakeholders concerned with ensuring unconditional compliance with legislation on occupational safety.
To prevent accidents and eliminate the risk of extraordinary emergencies during the harvest period in the Vitebsk Region, fields and plots, agricultural facilities, and sites at all agro-industrial enterprises participating in the harvest will be inspected as part of the monitoring activities.
