In agritourist farms of the Vitebsk Region, a variety of options for both active and leisurely recreation are offered. Interaction with animals and entertainment programs are particularly popular among children, while adults prefer relaxing by scenic lakes, including canoeing and kayaking excursions. Sports-related mass events and patriotic activities are also organized. This was stated by Olga Fedorova, Chief Specialist of the Department of Sports and Tourism of the Regional Executive Committee.

“One of the most prominent examples of agritourist farm operations in the Vitebsk Region is the ‘Velisov Put’ agroecotourism cluster in the Glubokoye District,” Olga Fedorova noted. “They provide a broad range of services, such as traditional cuisine, a mini-zoo, cheese-making workshops, dog sledding, souvenir crafting, and more.”

The official also cited several other examples of successful agritourist farm operations.

For instance, the “Ustye Life” agritourist farm (Braslav District) offers an entertainment route featuring the “Rustyagowski Shlyakh” quest. The program includes an engaging excursion through the surroundings of Ustye village, treasure hunting guided by historical maps, crafting protective talismans, exploring archival newspapers, and learning Old Belarusian dances. During the celebration of the traditional Kupalle festival, the farm hosts workshops on weaving Kupalle wreaths, various games and competitions, traditional Kupalle songs, bonfire circle dances, and the ritual of releasing wreaths onto the river.

At the “MOTO REZERVATION” agritourist farm in the Senno District, regular events are held commemorating World War II history, notably the “Lepel Counteroffensive” tank battle. The venue also hosts motorcycle festivals and extreme sports competitions, including strength athletics.

Additionally, information regarding agritourist farms in the Vitebsk Region and the events hosted there is regularly published on the official websites of the Regional Executive Committee and district executive committees, as well as on social media platforms and messaging apps. Farm owners also promote their services at international tourism exhibitions within Belarus and abroad.

Efforts to promote this type of leisure are bearing fruit. Thus, over the past year, agrotourism farms in the Vitebsk region welcomed visitors from 18 countries. The largest number of tourists came from Belarus, with Russia taking second place and Latvia third. In addition, guests regularly visit from China, Germany, and several other overseas countries.

For reference: There are 162 agrotourism entities and 167 agrotourism farms registered in the Vitebsk Region. The highest number of such farms operates in the Glubokoye (32), Postavy (27), Vitebsk (18), and Miory (14) districts.
