Miory Regional Executive Committee
The award ceremony for the laureates of the regional award for achievements in the field of quality in 2023 was held in Vitebsk.
During the Year of Quality, it is particularly important to focus on further improving living standards, ensuring the competitiveness of manufactured products, stimulating initiative, and fostering in society a sense of responsibility for the outcomes of one's work and a feeling of involvement in the country's future. These priorities have been outlined by the Head of State. The traditional regional award for achievements in the field of quality falls into this category of incentive initiatives.
– The primary assessment of your work is, of course, rendered by the economy, the market, and life itself, – noted during the award ceremony the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin. – It comprises various factors, but the key criterion is quality, which is evaluated by those who use your services or consume your products. The economic performance data for the Vitebsk Region in 2023 demonstrate that our products are in demand not only domestically but also in international markets. Industrial output volumes in comparable terms rose by 4.3% compared to 2022, approximately 40% of dispatched products are innovative, and exports increased by more than 1.5 times. Quality guarantees the competitiveness of our goods and services, and the Year of Quality for 2024, proclaimed by the Head of State, will help advance our economy and improve citizens’ well-being. Today, the principal challenge for the real sector of the economy is to enhance the competitiveness of products and services through the implementation of high-tech projects and cost optimization. The final outcome largely depends on each of us. Everyone must begin with themselves: perform their work on time and to a high standard.
The Head of the Region, together with the Chairman of the Regional Union of Employers, Vladimir Turavin, presented awards and diplomas to the leading enterprises and managers of the region.
Among organizations producing non-food goods, laureates include CJSC "Belvest", JSC "Vitebsk Carpets", the Orsha Machine-Building Plant "Krasny Borets", UP "Nit'" of the Public Association "Belarusian Society of the Deaf", and JSC "Invet". Among service-providing enterprises, UP "Vitebskoblgaz" has been awarded this distinction. This high title was confirmed by JSC "Vitebskhlebprom", the "Postavy Dairy Plant", "Keramika", and UP "Verkhniy Lug".
The director of "Krasny Borets", Vitaliy Krutko, did not conceal that winning in two categories simultaneously, as the best enterprise and the best manager, is doubly pleasant, yet entails a double responsibility.
– No matter how hard a manager strives to remain at the forefront of developments, the final outcome is ultimately determined by the efforts of the entire staff and the whole team. Here I adhere to the well-known proverb: "One man is no soldier." Relying on competent and proactive personnel, we manage to achieve a great deal. All products of the enterprise, comprising a wide range of grinding machines (over a hundred models), are import-substituting, with no domestic analogues. We export 80% of the produced flat, spline, internal grinding, and other machines to Russia, Turkey, and Kazakhstan. Regarding quality, let me cite one fact. Each of our machines can manufacture parts with an accuracy of up to one micron. For three consecutive years, one of our machine types has won the "Best Product" category. This time, this honor went to the cylindrical grinding machine, – shared Vitaliy Krutko with the correspondent of "VV".
In a similar vein, Artem Lokhankin, General Director of "Vitebsk Carpets", also expressed his views.
– An enterprise with a history spanning over 120 years is simply obliged to participate in such prestigious competitions and categories and to win, – he emphasized. – These are achievements of the entire collective. Last year alone, we released more than 20 types of carpet products. We have also started the current year successfully, having introduced six new collections of woven carpets, which will enable us to increase the volume of export shipments.
The significant number of products recognized in the "Best Products of the Republic of Belarus" category demonstrates that enterprises in the Vitebsk Region manufacture highly competitive, high-quality goods. Dairy products from Polotsk and Glubokoe were duly recognized, while those from Postavy and Tolochin additionally received the special award "New Product of the Year". The footwear manufactured by SSOO "Belvest" and the products of the production association "EnergoKomplekt" have been recognized as the best in their respective industries. A special prize for achievements in import substitution was awarded to "Vitebskie Kovry", the Belarusian Leather and Footwear Company "Marko", the "Polimir" plant of JSC "Naftan", and other enterprises.
The event was attended by Elena Morgunova, First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus.
