In Vitebsk, a tram has been launched in honor of the "Slavianski Bazaar". On February 16, on the day ticket sales for the 33rd forum began, the tram ran its inaugural route. This surprise was organized by the festival directorate in cooperation with the Vitebsk Tram-Trolleybus Administration, Director Gleb Lapitsky of the International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" announced:
– From Friday, February 16, through Sunday inclusive, the festival tram, decorated with festival symbols – cornflowers – will operate on Route No. 1, and starting next week it will run on Route No. 6. Why Route 6? Because the festival is the 33rd, and 3 plus 3 equals 6. Its distinguishing feature is not limited to the cornflowers. Throughout the entire route, passengers will be accompanied by the voice of the forum's permanent host, Alena Spiridovich.
Indeed, the host, indispensable to the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk", has recorded not only the stop announcements but also warmly invites everyone to the July forum:
"Dear passengers! I invite you aboard the festival tram. I am Alena Spiridovich. I wish you a good mood, pleasant travel companions, and successful ticket purchases. See you at the 33rd International Festival of Arts 'Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk'!"
Yet even after this, passengers cannot believe their ears, as exemplified by Oksana:
– Spiridovich? Yes, that's her! Exactly! How interesting. I will share this with my colleagues.
The branded festival tram is easily visible from a distance. As driver Olga Shchankikova stated, the tram departed from the depot at 5:49 and commenced its route. Now the "Slavianski Bazaar" tram speeds through Vitebsk, inviting residents and guests to festival concerts scheduled from July 9 to 15.
