A Chinese IT floor will appear in the Vitebsk tech park. An agreement on this was reached during a visit by a delegation of the Chinese company Beijing Zhaongbai Business Management Co. Ltd to the Vitebsk region.

The first steps toward closer cooperation between the two sides were taken last autumn during a visit by the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, to Shanghai, where the China International Import Expo was held, showcasing the export potential of our region. In December, an agreement was signed in Vitebsk on the establishment of the Vitebsk Region Industry Park in China. As noted at that time by the head of the region, the parties are focused not only on developing trade and economic relations but also on implementing joint projects in high technologies, science, and culture, both in China and in our region.

The current visit by the Chinese delegation is the next step in advancing the global project. In particular, the management of Beijing Zhaongbai Business Management Co. Ltd signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Vitebsk tech park "Zakon i Poryadok". As its director Mikhail Keizerov explained, under the agreement, strategic partnership in the field of IT technologies is planned, along with the creation of innovative, knowledge-intensive small and medium-sized enterprises.

– The Belarusian side will provide a floor in the tech park building for Chinese IT companies, as well as most-favored-nation treatment. By March 1, it is planned to collect a full set of documents for the registration of the company "Bel Zhong Bai", which will promote joint projects. Beijing Zhaongbai Business Management Co. Ltd is a major operator of the Shanghai Development Zone, with many projects and innovations. We have qualified IT personnel ready to perform work of any complexity. The project implies employment for our programmers, investments, and development of the tech park. In addition, the Chinese side may provide us with new technologies. We also agreed on exchange visits, specialist training, holding forums, and other joint events, – Mikhail Keizerov said.

Mr. Lei Ma, General Director of Beijing Zhaongbai Business Management Co.Ltd, who leads the Chinese delegation, noted that this is his third visit to Vitebsk and allowed him to assess the significant potential for cooperation, primarily in the field of the digital economy. In the initial stage, investments in the project will total approximately USD 2 million.

It should also be noted that a similar park in Shanghai plans to allocate premises for fifty enterprises and provide marketing services to support the sales of our products in China.

The visit of the Chinese delegation is scheduled for four days. The agenda includes visits to enterprises in Vitebsk and Orsha, a meeting with the management of the Free Economic Zone “Vitebsk”, negotiations regarding the supply of our products to the PRC, and the organization of reciprocal exhibitions. Delegation members will familiarize themselves not only with the economic potential of the region, but also with its scientific, educational, and cultural assets. They will also visit higher education institutions and the Regional Museum of Local Lore.

The outcomes of the trip will be reviewed on Friday during a meeting with the leadership of the Regional Executive Committee.
