The roof of the Summer Amphitheater in Vitebsk will be given a new appearance ahead of the upcoming Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, as well as the International Festival of Arts "Slavyanski Bazaar", announced Gleb Lapitsky, General Director of the "Vitebsk" Culture Center and Director of the Art Forum.

Preliminary work is already underway. "Design work is currently being carried out to replace the roof covering of the Summer Amphitheater and modernize its lighting system," Gleb Lapitsky specified.

The project entails a complete replacement of the polycarbonate covering, as it no longer meets the required standards. "We should express gratitude to the old one – it has served reliably without fail since 2007," noted Gleb Lapitsky. "Our primary objective is the modernization of the lighting system itself, as newer technologies are emerging, including fiber-optic solutions, cloud-based control systems, and server infrastructure. While this was considered state-of-the-art in 2007, we aim to ensure that the roof's control system remains contemporary today, giving it a more screen-like appearance."

The General Director of the Culture Center added that the Summer Amphitheater serves as a hallmark of Vitebsk. Its archway was modernized last year, and the next phase of the upgrade will focus on the illuminated roof. An original lighting design will also be installed on the amphitheater building itself, which houses the dressing rooms.

The facility will also undergo repairs to the seating and steps in the auditorium. Within the cultural and sports complex of the Summer Amphitheater, the staircases will also require modernization. The new structures will comply with all relevant standards and regulations, incorporating accessibility features for persons with limited mobility. Meanwhile, as construction tasks are being addressed, the creative team is engaged in preparations for the upcoming major forums. In particular, specialists are already developing a design concept for the stage setup for the main venue of the "Slavyanski Bazaar" festival.
