Miory Regional Executive Committee

A polyclinic, kindergartens, and family-type homes for children – the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee briefed BELTA correspondents on new social infrastructure facilities scheduled to open in the Vitebsk Region in 2024.

"The activities of social service organizations in the region are focused on upholding social standards and enhancing the quality of public services. In 2024, implementation of the State Programme "Health of the Population and Demographic Security of the Republic of Belarus" will continue. Construction of a new polyclinic in the Aeroport microdistrict of Polotsk will commence, while reconstruction of the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Hospital and the second building of the Regional Clinical Infectious Disease Hospital will proceed. Within the healthcare sector, plans include modernizing the fleet of emergency and medical transport, procuring medical equipment, and installing and commissioning angiography complexes, magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography scanners," the regional executive committee stated.

In the education sector, construction of key facilities will also be underway. "The region currently operates 485 educational institutions providing conditions for children to access preschool and special education at the preschool level, serving 40,300 children. In 2023, two kindergartens with a capacity of 200 places each were commissioned in Polotsk and Miory. This year, construction of four preschool education institutions will continue in Lepel, Novopolotsk, Vitebsk, and Orsha. Additionally, construction of two family-type homes for children is scheduled for 2024 in Vitebsk and Postavy," the regional executive committee highlighted.
