The second stage of the deferrization station was inaugurated in the agrarotown of Zubki, Liozno District, with the participation of Vladimir Terentiev, Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies.

The second launch phase involved the construction of water supply pipelines on Dobromyslyanskaya, Stroiteley, Stantsionnaya, Uglovskogo, 1st Kommunalnaya and other streets, where approximately half of the district center’s residents reside, as well as in the agrarotown of Zubki.

“The opening of the deferrization station in the urban settlement of Liozno is undoubtedly a highly significant event not only for the district but for our entire region as well. After all, a project of this scale was last implemented in the Vitebsk Region approximately five years ago. Over 4 million rubles were invested, and extensive work was carried out, including the laying of approximately 9.5 km of pipelines and many other tasks. The most important outcome is that today we can confidently state that residents of Liozno and the agrarotown of Zubki now have access to clean, high-quality, and pleasant-tasting water that will be supplied reliably and without interruption,” noted Vladimir Terentiev, Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies. “New deferrization stations will be established in an additional 13 agrarotowns within the district, and by 2024–2025, all works under the implementation of the ‘Clean Water’ subprogram of the State Program ‘Comfortable Housing and Favorable Environment’ will be completed.”

The facility is highly significant and long-awaited for the residents of this settlement, as well as for the entire district center. Over the past decade, intensive construction of multi-apartment and individual residential housing has been taking place in Liozno. Additionally, abnormally high ambient temperatures have exerted a considerable impact, leading to a sharp increase in the load on water supply infrastructure, including the equipment at the deferrization station. Consequently, during peak hours, water shortages were reported on the upper floors of multi-story buildings, or water was supplied to the distribution network with deviations from regulatory standards (the drinking water exhibited turbidity and elevated iron levels, which were attributed to the limited capacity of existing water management facilities and equipment).

Previously, with the participation of the head of the regional council of deputies, a decision was adopted regarding the construction of water supply facilities equipped with an iron removal station in Lyozno, as well as the provision of a connection point for the agro-town of Zubki to the water supply system.

In January 2023, within the framework of the implementation of the investment program “Clean Water in the Vitebsk Region”, the first operational unit was commissioned. It comprised two artesian wells, a water treatment facility with a capacity of 40 cubic meters per hour, two clean water reservoirs, as well as the construction and replacement of sections of water supply networks on Dobromyslyanskaya and Chkalova Streets in Lyozno. The cost of construction and installation works exceeded 2 million 80 thousand rubles.

The implementation of the investment project has not only enhanced the reliability of the water supply system and minimized instances of supplying substandard water to consumers in the district center, but has also ensured that the approximately 500 residents of the agro-town of Zubki receive high-quality drinking water that fully complies with established quality requirements.

Within the framework of the implementation of the “Clean Water” investment program, iron removal stations have been commissioned and are currently operating exclusively in the Lyozno District, supplying high-quality drinking water to residents of the settlements of Adamenki, Pushkin, Kovali, Novoye Selo, Chernoruchye, Vysotshany, and Kryntsi.
