During the meeting of the National Organizing Committee for the preparation for the XXX Day of Belarusian Writing, the main scenario for the celebration in Gorodok was approved. "The framework of the scenario is being approved at the organizing committee meeting. A sufficiently broad range of proposals is available for inclusion in the scenario," she explained.
Thousands of guests are expected at the celebration in Gorodok in early September. Currently, all venues in the area are being prepared for the large-scale festival.
According to Irina Polyakova, one of the main venues will be the square, hosting the "Gourmet Marathon" festival, the "Taras on Parnassus" celebration, and traditional readings. It will also feature a book festival zone, dedicated areas for youth, a Ministry of Education stand featuring historical reenactments, as well as interactive zones and a printing exhibition.
She noted that major repairs are currently underway for five residential buildings, while routine maintenance is being carried out at approximately 50 other sites. Asphalt paving has already been completed on five streets. The work continues, and procurement procedures are ongoing. "Approximately Br900,000 has been allocated for the improvement of the street and road network. Regarding educational facilities (two schools and three kindergartens), renovation works are in their final stages. Over Br2 million has been allocated exclusively for the repair of educational institutions. Renovation works at the House of Crafts, the museum, the library, and the City House of Culture have already been completed. Significant efforts are also being directed toward our central district hospital: cosmetic repairs and facade renovations are underway, and a mobile medical center has been procured. A separate area of focus involves developing tourist routes to attract visitors to our region," the head of the district executive committee added.
Funding for the preparation of venues in Gorodok for the Day of Literacy is primarily allocated from regional and local budgets.
XXX The Day of Belarusian Literacy will be held in Gorodok on September 2 and 3, 2023.
