В Витебске открыли обновленную клинико-диагностическую лабораторию городской клинической больницы №1

Miory Regional Executive Committee

250 thousand rubles were invested in the purchase of equipment and current repairs.

– In recent years, there has been considerable criticism directed at Hospital No. 1. This is a regional-level medical institution that serves patients of Vitebsk and the region, yet it lacked a proper laboratory. Sixty percent of laboratory tests were conducted at the regional diagnostic and cardiological centers. The updated laboratory will now enable all necessary examinations, including highly specialized ones, to be performed directly at the facility, thereby reducing the turnaround time several times over, – noted Mikhail Vishnevetsky, Head of the Main Directorate for Healthcare of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

During the reconstruction, the routine and emergency laboratories were merged and equipped with state-of-the-art laboratory-diagnostic equipment capable of performing the full spectrum of clinical, biochemical, and hematological tests. However, the hospital does not currently utilize all capabilities of the analyzers; therefore, provisions are being made for the laboratory to provide services to other healthcare facilities. It has already been decided that this laboratory will conduct tests for City Polyclinic No. 5, which will relocate this year to an adjacent building connected to Hospital No. 1 via an aerial walkway.

– Upgrades at the facility will continue through the end of the year. Repairs and modernization are currently underway for our vital Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Department, which will see a complete replacement of its equipment. Routine repairs will also be carried out in the Cardiology Department and at the facility’s entrance – the reception ward, – reported Andrey Kakoychenko, Chief Physician of VGKB No. 1.

In addition to the reconstruction of Vitebsk City Hospital No. 1 and the upcoming relocation of Vitebsk Polyclinic No. 5, the new Orsha Central Polyclinic is scheduled to be commissioned by the end of the year. Reconstruction of the Regional Infectious Disease Hospital has commenced, while construction and installation works at the surgical and intensive care unit building of the Regional Clinical Hospital will begin after the project design undergoes expert review, the Head of the Regional Health Department reported.
