For the 56th time, the lake district gathered numerous creative collectives for the traditional culture festival “Braslav Dawn”. Despite various circumstances, the event has retained its international status.

The ceremonial opening of the festival took place in the evening with the traditional extraction of live fire, a parade of clubs, and various entertainment programs.

In addition to numerous creative collectives, the festival was attended by distinguished guests: Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies Vladimir Terentiev, First Deputy Minister of Culture of Belarus Valery Gramada, Head of the Culture Department of the Regional Executive Committee Pyotr Padgursky. Among the honored guests were a representative of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Deputy Director of the Department of Humanitarian Cooperation, General Political and Social Issues of the CIS Executive Committee Kholmurat Rashidov, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Daugavpils Ilya Laputs, Member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Matveev, a delegation from the city of Jingzhou (People’s Republic of China) headed by Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Wang Jiangping, the Italian province of Randazzo headed by the President of the Municipal Council Cindara Scalisi, and the Sertvalskoye Urban Settlement of the Republic of Karelia under the leadership of Administration Head German Grishin.

Meanwhile, representatives of organizations and enterprises, as well as artistic collectives of hosts and guests, stream into the city center like little streams. A procession forms here, heading towards Lesnichyovka Forest Park – the venue for mass festivities. The celebration gains momentum.

Vladimir Terentiev greets the participants. He reminds those present that the “Braslav Dawn” festival is the oldest in the country and has become a unique brand not only of the district but of the entire region. Once again, it confirms a well-known postulate: creativity unites, and in the Year of Peace and Creation it acquires special meaning when the universally understood language of song and dance conveys only kindness, mutual understanding, and smiles. These words found their continuation in the greeting concert “Creativity. Friendship. Unity.”

At Castle Hill, members of amateur historical reconstruction associations constructed a fortified camp. The "Sword of Brachislav" festival, as part of "Braslau Dawn", is one of the most spectacular events showcasing medieval life. Visitors here familiarize themselves with birch bark weaving techniques, blacksmithing, weaving on vertical looms, and fishing net making. A lecture on flint processing is also available.
Warriors begin training battles to make them more impressive during the performances. Nearby, the musical group "Count Chapiski" rehearses. Those not engaged in these activities organize games.

Modern masters of the Houses of Crafts demonstrate their expertise at a separate venue.

The first day of the festival concluded with a concert by Alexander Saladukha, Honored Artist of Belarus. The second day of the festival promises to be just as engaging and interesting.
