On the Conduct of the Unified Safety Day

From September 1 to 10, the Unified Safety Day is being held in Belarus, as the state pays close attention to safety issues.

During these days, large-scale preventive, educational, and awareness-raising work will be carried out in the Vitebsk region to prevent emergencies, offenses, and crimes, as well as to teach rules of conduct in dangerous life situations. The culmination of the campaign is timed to coincide with the World Civil Defense Day.

Unfortunately, every year in our region, more than 1000 people die and over 8000 people are injured due to ignorance and disregard for safety rules at home and at work.

We understand that it is impossible to radically change the situation in such a short period as 10 days. But our main goal is to draw attention to the reality of the existing problem and the possible consequences of non-compliance with safety regulations.

May the acquired knowledge become a reliable and solid foundation in your future life.

Be vigilant and take care of yourself and your loved ones!

Schoolchildren Visit Rescuers

As part of the Unified Safety Day, students from the Disna nursery-kindergarten and Novopogost school visited the rescuers. The purpose of the schoolchildren's visit was to observe the daily life of rescuers, as well as to become more familiar with the weapons and equipment used by rescuers to combat the fire element.

From the excursion, the children learned that "pants" are not only a piece of clothing, but also how the Ministry of Emergency Situations workers figuratively call a special device for drawing water. And a barrel is not only on a tree, but also on a fire truck – this device helps to create a compact stream for subsequent delivery to the fire site.

Many other different devices and equipment were demonstrated by the children, and each of them was briefly explained its purpose. And some of the children were able to try on sets of combat clothing.

Rescuers are confident that such events help children in their future life choices. Some of them may be future rescuers.

First Bells - Joyful Bells

The new academic year has begun. Today, the first bells rang in all schools across the country, inviting students to take their seats at school desks in pursuit of new knowledge.

Solemn assemblies dedicated to Knowledge Day were also held in the schools of Miory district. Employees of the district department for emergency situations were among the speakers. Rescuers congratulated teachers, children, and parents on the start of the new academic year, wishing them good health, optimism, and the achievement of new heights in the educational process.

They also reminded about such an important and necessary subject in the school curriculum as the basics of life safety. Without knowing these basics, every person risks finding themselves in an emergency situation. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to this subject and learn to live safely.

As part of the "Unified Safety Day" campaign, representatives of the Emergency Situations Department, the Electricity Supply Company, the Society for the Rescue of Persons on Waters, and the energy supervision authority conducted events at Chepukovskaya Secondary School - Kindergarten to prevent emergencies, offenses, and crimes, as well as to train behavior in case of fires, accidents, and to provide first aid.

Ensuring Safe Working Conditions

From 01.09.2021 to 10.09.2021, a Unified Republican Safety Day is being held in the Vitebsk region. The main goal of the event is to conduct anti-accident drills, develop clear skills for making operational decisions in any situation and in the shortest possible time, and develop organizational and technical measures aimed at improving the level of personnel professional training.

Each enterprise must develop an action plan to ensure industrial safety and a plan to localize and eliminate their consequences.

Anti-accident drills are one of the mandatory forms of work with personnel. Conducting drills involves solving such a task as checking the personnel's ability to correctly perceive and analyze information about a technological violation, and based on this information, make an optimal decision to eliminate it through specific actions or by issuing specific orders. Drills are conducted with the reproduction of conditional work violations, simulating operational actions to eliminate accidents and incidents at the workplace. The main actors in conducting drills are the drill supervisor, the drill participants, and mediators performing control functions. The effectiveness of the drill depends on the relevance of the topic, the quality of program development, the preparation of participants and the necessary means for conducting the drill, the degree of approximation of the conditional accident to a real one, and the correct and objective assessment of the participants' actions and the drill debriefing.

Emergency drills are conducted to acquire practical skills and the ability of personnel to act independently, quickly, and technically competently in the event of technological violations, applying the rules of technical operation and safety, operational instructions, and labor protection instructions, and are an integral part of industrial safety.

During the specified period, state inspectors will be sent to enterprises supervised by Gospromnadzor to organize and participate in emergency drills. These annual events contribute to the accident-free operation and functioning of equipment.
