The elevator is not a place for games!

Summer holidays are just around the corner, and children will have more free time. It is during this time that courtyards, entrances, and even elevators sometimes become places for children's games. And since elevators are present in every building with more than 5 floors, there can be quite a lot of such play areas. In addition, elevators are found in shopping centers, office and industrial buildings, polyclinics, and hospitals. Elevators may seem like simple devices at first glance, but this is far from the case. An elevator is a rather complex lifting mechanism, and certain rules must be followed when using it.

Dear parents! Remind your children about the importance of following the Elevator Rules of Use. They are posted on the main landing platform and in the elevator car. You can also find the phone number of the maintenance organization and the emergency service here. These phone numbers are necessary in case of any unclear or emergency situations. Elevator cars are also equipped with a communication system with the dispatch service.

Knowing the rules of elevator use will help a child avoid an emergency situation and, if necessary, act correctly in the given situation.

For example, do not overload the elevator, fool around, or jump while the elevator is moving. The elevator equipment must be treated with care. The absence of lighting on the landing platform of any floor of the building is a violation of safety regulations. In this case, citizens can independently report this to the dispatcher via the communication system. Communication with the dispatch center is maintained constantly, at any time of the day, and the dispatcher is obliged to accept the request.

Before entering an open door, make sure that it is the car in front of you, not the gaping emptiness of the shaft.

Another common violation is transporting a child in a stroller in a passenger elevator! Remember! This is not allowed. The child must be picked up. An adult should enter the elevator car first, then wheel in the stroller and bring in the children. Preschool children should not use elevators independently, only accompanied by adults.

Enter the elevator without rushing, press the button for your desired floor only after all passengers wishing to use the elevator have fully boarded, distributing the load evenly across the elevator car.

 

Do not attempt to exit the elevator car on your own if it stops between floors. This could lead to a fall down the elevator shaft with tragic consequences. In such a situation, contact the dispatcher and wait for assistance from specialists.

Do not attempt to use the elevator during a fire or thunderstorm, as the power may fail at any moment, causing the elevator to stop. This, in turn, will lead to additional time loss. In this situation, your rescue from the elevator car requires the intervention of maintenance personnel.

Dear citizens! Talk to your children about the importance of following the Elevator Usage Rules and do not violate them yourselves. Take care of the elevator! Use it only for its intended purpose, and it will be your assistant for many years to come!
