From April 1st, applications for participation in the National Competition "Entrepreneur of the Year" will be accepted.
In accordance with the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No. 207 of March 17, 2016, the Ministry of Economy announces the start of the National Competition "Entrepreneur of the Year" from April 1, 2024.
Applications for participation in the competition are accepted from April 1 to June 1, 2024, at the city/district executive committee at the location (place of residence) of the potential winner of the competition.
Requirements for competition participants by nominations:
- "Successful Start"
small and medium-sized enterprises (excluding individual entrepreneurs) registered in the Republic of Belarus from January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2021.
- "Stable Success"
legal entities that are not small enterprises and were registered in the Republic of Belarus before December 31, 2018.
- "Effective Business in Production"
small and medium-sized enterprises (excluding individual entrepreneurs) registered in the Republic of Belarus before December 31, 2020, and whose main type of activity, in accordance with the State Classifier of the Republic of Belarus OKRB 005-2011 "Types of Economic Activity", approved by the Resolution of the State Committee for Standardization of December 5, 2011, No. 85 "On Approval and Implementation of the State Classifier of the Republic of Belarus", relates to sections A, C, E;
- "Effective Business in Services"
small and medium-sized enterprises (excluding individual entrepreneurs) registered in the Republic of Belarus before December 31, 2020.
- "Effective Individual Business"
individual entrepreneurs registered in the Republic of Belarus before December 31, 2020, and who paid mandatory insurance contributions for themselves to the budget of the state Non-budgetary Fund for Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Belarus in accordance with the legislation for 2023.
The competition was held among legal entities in which the state's shares (stakes) in the authorized fund are absent or less than 50 percent.
The following entities are not eligible to participate in the competition:
- professional participants of the securities market;
- subjects of natural monopolies;
- legal entities and individual entrepreneurs who are undergoing reorganization, or in respect of whom insolvency (bankruptcy) proceedings have been initiated, or whose main activities include the production and sale of alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, oil and petroleum products, mineral and chemical potash fertilizers, lottery activities, gambling activities, organization and conduct of electronic interactive games;
- legal entities whose representatives are members of the competition organizing committee.
The principal conditions for selecting applicants for participation in the competition are the absence in 2023 of:
- losses and debts to the republican and local budgets, budgets of state off-budget funds, as well as for salary payments;
- fatal occupational accidents and (or) those leading to severe occupational injuries, caused by the employer's fault;
- cases of bringing an individual entrepreneur or the head of a legal entity to criminal liability in connection with their entrepreneurial activities;
- cases of imposing administrative penalties on a competition participant in the form of confiscation of income, goods (products), revenue received from the sale of products, goods, works, services, and (or) a fine, and (or) recovery of the value of the subject of an administrative offense in an amount exceeding 250 basic units.
Entrepreneurs wishing to participate in the Competition must send their applications to the relevant executive authorities (at the place of state registration).
The awarding of competition winners is held in a solemn ceremony by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus or, by his order, by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, with the presentation of diplomas "Winner of the National Competition 'Entrepreneur of the Year'", a commemorative prize of the competition, and a bonus in the amount of:
- to the winner in the nomination "Effective Individual Business" – 50 base units;
- to the winners in the other nominations – 100 base units.
