In 2024, the VI Republican competition "Family of the Year" is traditionally held.

The competition is being held in Belarus for the sixth time – the first took place in 2012.

During this time, the family competition has become a traditional holiday in our country, aimed at preserving the spiritual and moral values of the family, promoting the idea of responsible parenthood in society, and popularizing a healthy lifestyle, especially among young people, and the prestige of family life.

The competition consists of two stages:

• the first stage is regional (oblast), timed to coincide with the celebration of Family Day (May 15), and is held in the republic;
• the second stage (final) is republican, timed to coincide with the celebration of Mother's Day (October 14), and is held in Minsk.

The participants of the competition are families (parents, children, grandmothers and grandfathers) who meet the following criteria (hereinafter referred to as family teams):

• members of family teams are citizens of the Republic of Belarus, permanently residing in Minsk;
• family teams have three or more children;
• spouses are in a registered marriage, create the necessary conditions for the maintenance, upbringing, development and education of children, the preservation and strengthening of their health, and preparation for independent life;
• children are raised in the spirit of patriotism, love for the Motherland, respect for elders, diligence, have good academic results, and participate in the social and sports life of the school and city;
• the family team knows how to form the aesthetics of the surrounding space and maintains the apartment (house) where they live in exemplary order.
