The State Automobile Inspectorate of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Miory District Executive Committee, together with representatives of the State Technical Supervision Inspectorate of the Vitebsk Region, will hold a preventive decade from October 9 to October 18.

"Attention! Self-propelled Machines and Tractors"

The preventive decade is being held by the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Miory District Executive Committee, together with representatives of the State Technical Supervision Inspectorate of the Vitebsk region, from October 09 to October 18, 2023.

The purpose of this decade is to prevent road traffic accidents involving self-propelled and tractor equipment.

Despite the work carried out by the State Automobile Inspectorate units to improve and increase the effectiveness of preventive measures to ensure road traffic safety, the state of accidents involving tractor equipment and self-propelled machines of economic entities of all forms of ownership causes particular concern.

As part of the decade, special attention will be paid to tractor equipment operated by economic entities of non-state ownership and individual owners, preventive work among the population will be intensified to eliminate instances of tractor equipment moving on public roads with absent or faulty external lighting devices, and work to identify violations of traffic rules in the operation of tractors and self-propelled machines will be intensified.

There are quite a few homemade tractors in the district that are not registered in the prescribed manner. The participation of such vehicles in road traffic is prohibited. All tractors, mini-tractors, including homemade ones, must be registered with the State Technical Supervision Inspectorate. To operate a tractor, including a homemade one, it is necessary to have a tractor driver-machinist certificate of the appropriate category.

In the conditions of autumn twilight, the condition of the external lighting devices of tractor equipment, operated trailers and mechanisms is extremely important. With the current level of motorization and traffic density, the very appearance of self-propelled and tractor equipment on the road is already perceived as a threat to road traffic safety, and

the lack of proper lighting indication of this equipment provokes road traffic accidents.

Self-propelled machines – tracked tractors, agricultural, road, construction and other machines – are not intended for participation in road traffic without additional road safety measures provided by the manufacturer. When a self-propelled machine is moving on the road, an orange beacon must be switched on.

Do not operate machinery and trailers with faulty external lighting devices!

Dear drivers, do not forget one of the requirements of the Traffic Regulations: the driver is obliged to keep the vehicle participating in road traffic in a technically sound condition, to check its technical condition before starting to move, and also to keep its windows and external lighting devices clean.
