Over the past period of the current year, 15 road traffic accidents caused by motorcyclists have occurred in the Vitebsk region, resulting in 1 death and 18 injuries of varying severity.

In the past month of September alone, 5 traffic accidents involving motorcycles occurred in the region, resulting in 1 death and 5 injuries.

To prevent road traffic accidents and to stop violations of traffic rules by motorcycle drivers, the State Automobile Inspectorate will conduct preventive measures from September 12 to 17 to prevent road traffic accidents involving motorcycle drivers.

The State Automobile Inspectorate reminds: Driving without a license carries administrative liability in the form of a fine from 5 to 20 basic units, and for a repeat offense within a year, the fine is from 20 to 50 basic units, or community service, or administrative arrest.

Driving a vehicle while intoxicated, with an absolute ethyl alcohol content in the blood up to 0.8 per mille inclusive, carries administrative liability in the form of a fine of 100 basic units with deprivation of the right to drive for three years, and with an absolute ethyl alcohol content in the blood exceeding 0.8 per mille, administrative liability is provided in the form of a fine of 200 basic units with deprivation of the right to drive for five years.
